Fury did appear to back his kin, however, placing a £100,000 bet on Tommy to win with a rumoured £250,000 profit on the line.

But did he really win the bet?

Although Tyson may have bet £100,000 on Tommy to win the fight, he might not have won the bet. Tyson was quoted as saying:

“I’ve got 100 racks on it for an inside-the-distance stoppage, so if he loses, then I’ll lose 100 bags as well. “I know Tommy is going to knock him out. […] “I think Tommy can get him out of there whenever really. It’ll definitely be inside the distance, and it won’t be a points job for sure. Tommy wins by knockout.”

Judging by the quotes, it appears as though Tyson placed a big £100,000 bet on Tommy to win by knockout, but that isn’t what happened.

Tommy won the fight by split decision, and Jake Paul even had Tommy on the canvas in the latter rounds. So even though Tommy won the fight, it appears his big brother will have still lost his bet – not that the undefeated heavyweight champion can’t afford to lose it, of course.

Tommy might have reimbursed him the loss, however. Jake Paul and Tommy agreed to a winner-takes-all purse, so the winner of the fight received much more than the loser overall. This would have been a bumper pay packed for Tommy, and he may have felt obligated to pay Tyson back for his lost bet, but of course, we’ll never know.
